સારંગપુર-૧૦: આત્મદૃષ્ટિ-બાહ્યદૃષ્ટિનું, પાંચ ખાસડાંનું

નિરૂપણ

સં. ૧૯૪૩, વડતાલમાં કોઠારી ત્ર્યંબકલાલ ભગતજીને સભામાં વાતો કરવા કહ્યું. ત્યારે ભગતજીએ પાસે બેઠેલા કુંજવિહારીદાસ શાસ્ત્રી પાસે સારંગપુર ૧૦મું વચનામૃત વંચાવ્યું અને પોતે વાત કરતાં કહ્યું, “આ વચનામૃતમાં મહારાજે દેહ છતાં જ એકાંતિક ધર્મ સિદ્ધ થઈ જાય અને ઇન્દ્રિયો-અંતઃકરણ પુરુષોત્તમરૂપ થઈ જાય એવી કરામત બતાવી છે, પણ એ કરામત એવા મર્મને શીખેલા મોટા સત્પુરુષ થકી શિખાય છે. મેં મારા ગુરુ પાસે એ વિદ્યા સિદ્ધ કરી છે.” એમ કહી બ્રહ્મસ્થિતિની વાત કરી... “આ સ્થિતિ સિદ્ધ કરવા માટે પ્રથમ તો મારા ગુરુએ મને એવી કળા શીખવાડી છે કે જેમ દૂધમાં જામણ (મેળવણ) નાખીએ ત્યારે દહીં થાય અને પછી દહીંમાંથી ઘી થાય, તેમ મારા આત્મામાં ભગવાન અખંડ રહ્યા છે. એવી જે સમજણ કરવી તે દૂધમાં જામણ નાખ્યા બરાબર છે. અને એવી સમજણ કરી અંતરમાં ભગવાનને પ્રગટ કરવા એ દહીં વલોવી, માખણ કરી ગજવામાં મૂકવા બરોબર છે.” એમ કહી આગળ ભગતજી બોલ્યા, “પાંચસો મણ સોનું હોય પણ પાંચ વરસના છોકરાથી ન ઊપડે અને ન લેવાય. એ તો જ્યારે દૂધ અને સાકરનું પાન કરે અને મોટું થાય ત્યારે ઉપાડવા સમર્થ થાય. તેમ આ જીવ બાળક જેવો નિર્બળ છે. પણ એકાંતિક સાધુ થકી કથાવાર્તારૂપી દૂધ પીએ તો બળિયો થાય અને અંતરમાં અખંડ ભગવાનની મૂર્તિ ધારી રાખે.”

Samvat 1943, Vartāl. Kothāri Tryambaklāl asked Bhagatji Mahārāj to speak in the assembly. Bhagatji asked Kunjavihāridās Shāstri seated near him to read Vachanāmrut Sārangpur 10. Bhagatji then explained, “In this Vachanamrut, Maharaj shows a clever way in which one can attain perfection in ekāntik dharma during this very life. It will culminate in one’s senses and antahkaran becoming divine. However, this technique can only be learnt from the Satpurush, because he knows the secrets of this magical path. I have perfected this knowledge through my guru. Therefore, I continually experience the bliss of devotion to God and remain in the brahmic state...”

He then talked about the brahmic state, saying, “In order to attain this state my guru taught me a special way to perfect such a spiritual state. Here is an example to explain it. Yoghurt is formed when the congealing agent is put into milk. Ghee is made from yoghurt. Similarly, to cultivate the belief that God resides in the ātmā is like putting the congealing agent in milk. Having developed that understanding, to manifest God in one’s heart is like churning the yoghurt, turning it into butter and putting it into one’s pocket to eat later.

“Further on in the Vachanāmrut, it is said that one who believes his jivātmā to be distinct from the three bodies — gross, subtle and causal — and who believes that God forever resides within him, believes himself to be above the feelings of the body. Such a person behaves as being ātmarup. Spiritually, he is continually alert and believes that God resides within him. The final steps mentioned here are like making ghee from the milk.”

Continuing, Bhagatji said, “Scores of gold bars cannot be lifted by a five-year-old child. Once the child grows up and becomes strong by drinking sweetened milk, only then can it lift the heavy gold. Similarly, the jiva is weak like the child. It becomes strong by drinking milk in the form of spiritual discourses from the ekāntik Sant. It can then forever firmly sustain God in its heart.”

નિરૂપણ

સંવત ૧૯૪૫, ભાદરોડ. ભગતજીએ સારંગપુર ૧૦મું વચનામૃત વંચાવ્યું અને કહ્યું, “અંતરમાં જ્યારે ભગવાન દેખાય છે અને મૂર્તિનું સુખ આવે છે ત્યારે એવો આનંદ આવે છે કે વર્ણવી શકાય જ નહીં, પણ સહજ દૃષ્ટાંત દઉં છું – એક રાજાનો કુંવર શિકાર કરવા ગયો હતો. રસ્તામાં બહુ તરસ લાગી તેથી કૂવે પાણી પીવા ગયો. કૂવો ખૂબ જ ઊંડો અને અંધારો. તેથી પાણી કાઢતાં પોતાનો લાખ રૂપિયાનો હીરાજડિત વેઢ કૂવામાં પડી ગયો. પછી તો તેણે ગામમાંથી તારા બોલાવ્યા. અને કોઈને હજાર, કોઈને બે હજાર, કોઈને પાંચ હજાર આપવાનું કહ્યું. પછી એક હોશિયાર તારો કહે, ‘રૂપિયા દસ હજાર લઉં.’ એટલે કુંવરે કબૂલ કર્યું, તે તારો મોઢામાં તેલનો કોગળો ભરીને કૂવામાં ઊતર્યો અને પાણીમાં જઈને તેલનો કોગળો કર્યો. તે અજવાળું થયું અને વેઢ મળી ગયો તે તારાને વેઢ લઈને ઉપર આવતાં દસ હજાર મળશે તેનો જે આનંદ થાય! પણ પાણીમાં છે ત્યાં સુધી એ આનંદ કોને બતાવે અને કોને કહે? મનમાં ને મનમાં બસ મલકાય અને છાતી હર્ષથી પહોળી થાય. તેમ ભગવાન સામું જુએ છે ત્યારે એવો આનંદ થાય છે, જે કોઈને કહેવાતો નથી.”

Samvat 1945. Bhādrod. Bhagatji had Vachanamrut Sārangpur 10 read and said, “The experience of seeing God in one’s heart and the bliss of the murti within gives indescribable happiness. I will narrate a small example based on this.

“Once, a prince went out hunting. After a while, he felt thirsty and went to a nearby well to get some water. As he bent over the well to pull out some water, his valuable 100,000-rupee diamond ring fell inside. The well was very deep and dark. He summoned all the divers from the village to retrieve it. He offered various rewards - 1,000 rupees, 2,000 rupees and even 5,000 rupees - yet no one was able to retrieve the ring. Many of them dived in and tried, but all came out empty-handed. One of the divers was intelligent and said, ‘I will charge you 10,000 rupees.’ The prince accepted this offer.

“This diver dove in the well with a mouthful of oil. He expelled the oil in the water to cause a refraction of light in the water, enabling him to find the ring. While he was on his way back to the surface, his only thought was about the 10,000-rupee reward. However, while he was still in the water, who can he share his joy with? He kept his joy to himself and his chest filled with delight.

“The moral of this story is that one experiences happiness when one looks towards God. This happiness cannot be described to anyone else.”
